We our packing our bags and our boxes of goodies as we prepare to make our way to AWP in Los Angeles this March 26-29.
If you stop by our booth (#922) at this year’s bookfair, you can meet our editors and our team of interns, pick up our latest issues, and behold some other wonderful surprises. On Friday, March 28, between 2–3 PM, we are also hosting a book signing featuring River Teeth author, Nicole Graev Lipson (Mothers and Other Fictional Characters) and River Teeth editor, Mark Neely (Late Stage).
Later that evening, from 6–8 PM at Bonaventure Brewing Co. (4th floor at the Westin), we celebrate the beauty and power of creative nonfiction—along with our friends at Fourth Genre, Hippocampus Magazine, and Under the Gum Tree—with a reading. Readers will include authors from each journal. If the past readings are any indication how this evening will go, then we recommend showing up early to get a seat and a beverage to take in the amazing pieces the authors will share.
Finally, our editor, Jill Christman, will take part in a panel that is sure to evoke tears, laughter, and insights: “Writing Traumedy: How to Make Your Mother Cry at Your Life & Laugh at Your Death.” Moderated by our very own Book Reviews editor, Brooke Champagne, the panel will feature nonfiction writers Ashley C. Ford, Brittany Means, and Sue William Silverman. This is sure to be a great talk, and you can catch it on Saturday, March 29, from 12:10–1:25 PM, in Room 502A, on Level Two of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
If you are at the conference, or in the L.A. area, please stop by our booth (#922) to say hello. We would love to see you there!
